Jesmonite Ltd have recently employed their 6th apprentice with us. We spent some time with the Managing Director Piran to find out more about their experience of employing apprentices.
What benefits have taking on apprentices brought to your business?
We are able to react to the increase in interest of Jesmonite much faster.
How many apprentices have you taken on with AGL Training?
16 including apprentices and existing staff.
Do you think you may take on more apprentices with us in the future?
Yes, we are currently looking to take on another 4.
What are your thoughts on the service you have received so far?
Exemplary.
What would your advice be to other businesses who are looking into taking on an apprentice?
Commit to it, do a lot of work upfront with the apprentice to keep their interest. Do not believe there is anything such as common sense.
Any other comments you would like to add?
Apprentices are the way forward for businesses now as long as the business commits to the apprentice.
