Supply Chain Warehouse Operative Apprenticeship Level 2

The Supply Chain Warehouse Operative apprenticeship has been developed to support learners in a variety of warehouse environments. Work activities include taking deliveries, checking for damaged/missing items, storing goods, moving stock by various methods, picking/packing orders, loading goods for dispatch, maintaining stock records and documentation, and cleaning. They are required to safely use a range of equipment, machinery, and vehicles, as relevant to their role and setting. This could include mechanical racking systems, materials handling equipment (MHE) or forklift trucks. It provides a highly transferable set of knowledge, skills and behaviours and takes a minimum of 12-15 months to complete.  

 

To achieve the Supply Chain Warehouse apprenticeship standard each learner must:

 

  • Develop a portfolio of evidence and/or work towards a Highfield Level 2 Certificate for Supply Chain Warehouse Operatives (RQF).

  • Have regular 1-to-1s with their line manager.

  • Work with their training provider who will provide training and resources to support learning in meeting Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours set out by the Supply Chain Warehouse and Operative Standard.

  • Complete a minimum of 20% off-the-job (OTJ) training. 

  • Achieve Functional Skills maths and English at Level 1 and taken tests for Level 2, prior to EPA Pass End Point Assessment (EPA).

  • Pass End Point Assessment (EPA).

 

 

 

 

Highfield Level 2 Certificate for Supply Chain Warehouse Operatives (RQF)

The qualification is a combined knowledge and competence qualification. It is assessed through the completion of a portfolio of evidence.

 

The course consists of 5 mandatory units:

 

  • Safe use of Equipment, Vehicles and Machinery

  • Environmental Management

  • Building Relationships

  • Working in Accordance with Warehousing Systems and Processes

  • Awareness of the Supply Chain Industry and Own Organisation

End Point Assessment (EPA)

​

End Point Assessment is carried out by an external organisation (EPAO) and is made up of the following:

  1. Knowledge and Behaviours Test – The assessment will consist of structured short answer and scenario-based questions (SAQs). This test will be taken under exam conditions and assessed by the selected Assessment Organisation.

  2. Practical Assessment - The practical assessment will be observed by an independent assessor who will make a judgement on whether the apprentice is competent to carry out the practical aspects of their job role. This will last for 60 minutes.

 

To pass the End Point Assessment, the learner must achieve a minimum 70%

Grade Total Mark: Distinction 90+%, Pass 70+%, Fail Less than 70%.
