Business Administrator Apprenticeship Level 3

​

The Business Administrator apprenticeship has been developed to support learners in a Business Administration Role and provides a highly transferable set of knowledge, skills and behaviours. The apprenticeship is a firm grounding in organisational operations and functional processes, as well as the wider working environment and takes between 15 – 18 months to complete.

To achieve the Business Administrator L3 apprenticeship standard each learner must:

 

  • Develop a portfolio of evidence and/or work towards a Highfield Level 3 Diploma for Business Administrators (RQF)

  • Have regular 1-to-1s with their line manager.

  • Work with their training provider who will provide training and resources to support learning in meeting Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours set out by the Business Administrator Standard.

  • Complete a minimum of 20% off-the-job (OTJ) training. 

  • Achieve Functional Skills maths and English at Level 2, prior to EPA Pass End Point Assessment (EPA).

Highfield  Level 3 Diploma for Business Administrators

 

The qualification is a combined knowledge and competence qualification. It is assessed through the completion of a portfolio of evidence.

 

The course consists of 21 mandatory units:

End Point Assessment (EPA)

End Point Assessment is carried out by an external organisation (EPAO) and is made up of the following:

 

  1. Knowledge Test - The apprentice undertakes a multi-choice test to last a maximum of 60 minutes and include 50 equally weighted multi-choice questions with four possible answers to each. The test predominantly focuses on non-organisation specific knowledge outlined in the Standard.

  2. Portfolio Based Interview - The interview is for 30-45 minutes and scored out of 100. The interview assesses:

    • understanding of the portfolio to validate competence shown

    • self-reflection of performance, demonstrating knowledge and how appropriate skills and behaviours have been applied

    • judgement and understanding to explain appropriate examples.

  3. Project Presentation - The apprentice delivers a presentation to the EPAO on a project they have completed or a process they have improved. The presentation lasts 10-15 minutes, with a further 10-15 minutes for a Q&A session. The presentation is out of 100.

 

To pass the End Point Assessment, the learner must achieve a minimum of 60%.

 

Grade Total Mark: Distinction 80%+, Pass 60-79%, Fail Less than 60%.
