Our client is the official supplier to the UK MoD Medal Office. They specialise in the manufacture and supply of full size and miniature medals and medal mounting. Granted a Royal Warrant as Medallists to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II since 2008 and our client is a supplier of insignia to many Governments around the world.

Our client is looking for a hardworking and reliable individual to join a busy team. This role will see you working on dies, tooling and medals. Learning to create perfect mirror finishes in a variety of materials.

The position is for an Apprenticeship, the position is initially 12 - 15 months with the possibility of a full-time role at the end of the programme.
​
During this time, you will work towards the following qualifications:

Level 2 Lean Manufacturing Apprenticeship Standard

EAL Level 2 Diploma in Manufacturing (knowledge and skills)

Highfield Diploma in English and Maths Functional Skills Level 1/ Level 2
General Duties
You will receive training to enable you to carry out the following duties:
-
Polishing small intricate parts
-
Finish Metallic surfaces, removing contamination and defects

Check completed product is to the required standard
-
Polishing of dies using the polishing machinery

How to use the machinery and abrasive tools
-
Complete documentation relevant to the manufacturing process
Skills and Requirements
The ideal candidate will be:

GCSE Grade 4 or above in English and Maths (Grade C)

Working Hours
Monday – Friday: 7:30 – 4:00pm with 1 hour lunch
Total hours paid: 37.5
Hourly Rate: £6.45
