Operations / Departmental Management Apprenticeship Level 5
The Operations / Departmental Management apprenticeship has been developed to support learners who manage teams and/or projects, achieving operational or departmental goals and objectives, as part of the delivery of the organisation’s strategy. They are accountable to a more senior manager or business owner. It provides a highly transferable set of knowledge, skills and behaviours and takes 2 ½ years to complete.
To achieve the Operations / Departmental Management standard each learner must:

Develop a portfolio of evidence and/or work towards a Highfield Level 5 Diploma for Operations or Departmental Managers (RQF).

Complete a project proposal.

Complete a minimum of 20% off-the-job (OTJ) training.

Achieve Functional Skills maths and English at Level 2, prior to EPA Pass End Point Assessment (EPA).

Pass End Point Assessment (EPA).
Highfield Level 5 Diploma for Operations or Departmental Managers (RQF)
The qualification is a combined knowledge and competence qualification. It is assessed through the completion of a portfolio of evidence.

End Point Assessment (EPA)
End Point Assessment is carried out by an external organisation. End Point Assessment is made up of:

Assessment method 1: 60-minute professional discussion, underpinned by a portfolio of evidence.

Assessment method 2: 500-word project proposal, 4000-word project report, 20-minute presentation and 40-minutes of questioning.
To achieve a pass overall, the apprentice must achieve all the pass criteria in all assessment methods. To achieve a distinction overall, the apprentice must achieve all the pass criteria and all the distinction criteria in all assessment methods.
Professional Recognition:

Chartered Management Institute - upon completion the apprentice would be eligible to become a Full Member.
