AGL Training Ltd are looking to recruit a Fitting and Fabricating Apprentice on behalf of our well-established client based in Hadley, Telford.
​
Our client specialises in the design and manufacture of sewage waste treatment systems for clients all over the world. Based in Telford for over 20 years, they provide bespoke sewage treatment systems and support for our customers.
​
They produce varying sizes of treatment plants using thermoplastic welding techniques at their Queensway Business Park workshop.
​
On completion of the apprenticeship, successful candidates will become a fully employed fitter / fabricator.
The position is for an Apprenticeship, the position is initially 15 months with the possibility of a full-time role at the end of the programme.
During this time, you will work towards the following qualifications:

Level 2 Lean Manufacturing Apprenticeship Standards

Level 2 Manufacturing (knowledge and skills)
-
English and Maths Functional Skills Level 1/ Level 2
General Duties
​
You will receive training to enable you to carry out the following duties:
​

Mechanical fitting of treatment systems.
-
Solvent welding of pipe and fittings.
-
Electrical preparation of blower and pump housings.
-
Preparing plastic sheets prior to welding.
-
Hand welding and tacking of sheets together with hand welder and speed nozzles.
-
Pendulum welding.
-
Extrusion welding.
-
Final assembly of treatment systems.
-
Quality control processes.
-
Health and safety aspects within the workplace.
-
Read and understand basic drawings.
-
Working out dimensions.
-
Forming cylindrical vessels by using basic maths.
-
Using hand power tools and a wall saw.
Skills and Requirements

GCSE Grade 4 or above in English and Maths (Grade C)

Electrical experience desired but not essential.
Working Hours:
​
Monday – Thursday: 08:00 – 16:30.
​
Friday: 08:00 – 13:45.
​
Total hours paid: 37.5
​
Hourly Rate: above minimum wage, to be negotiated
