AGL Training Ltd are looking to recruit a CNC Operator Apprentice on behalf of our well-established client based in Halesfield.

Our client was established in 1982, they produce high-quality machined components to industries such as, medical, food processing, automotive and plumbing industries. They supply a large range of components to customer specifications, from a simple roller and wheel to more complicated parts and intricate assemblies. They supply products from just raw materials right down to the finished part, from a one-off prototype to a run of thousands with their CNC Lathes and machining centres.

Your role will be to learn how to set and operate CNC machines and lathes.

The position is for an Apprenticeship, the position is initially 12-15 months with the possibility of a full-time role at the end of the programme.
During this time, you will work towards the following qualifications:

•    Level 2 Lean Manufacturing Operative Apprenticeship Standards
•    EAL Level 2 Diploma in Manufacturing (knowledge and skills)
•    English and Maths Functional Skills Level 1/ Level 2

General Duties
You will receive training to enable you to carry out the following duties:
•    Programming and operating CNC machines
•    Cleaning parts
•    Quality checking parts
•    Reading drawings
•    Organising jobs by due date
•    General housekeeping
•    Health and safety

Skills and Requirements
The ideal candidate will be:
•    GCSE Grade 4 or above in English and Maths (Grade C)
•    Ambitious and willing to learn
•    Confident
•    Polite and friendly
•    Reliable 

Working Hours
Monday – Thursday: 8:00- 16:30
Friday’s 8:00- 15:30 
Total hours paid: 40

Hourly Rate: £6.50 ph. (negotiable depending on the candidate)
