AGL Training Ltd are looking to recruit a Trainee Stone Mason on behalf of our well-established client based in Wolverhampton.
Our client supply and manufacture high-quality Marble, Granite and Quartz work surfaces. They are a well-established business, with a friendly team looking for the perfect individual to join as an apprentice and learn all aspects of stone workshop production.
The company have excellent long-term career prospects, both within Stone Masonry and Fitting. The current Production Manager started with the business 4 years ago as an apprentice!
The position is for an Apprenticeship, the position is initially 12-15 months with the possibility of a full-time role at the end of the programme.
During this time, you will work towards the following qualifications:

Level 2 Lean Manufacturing Operative Apprenticeship Standards

EAL Level 2 in Manufacturing (Skills and Knowledge)

English and Maths Functional Skills Level 1/2
General Duties
You will receive training to enable you to carry out the following duties:
-
Moving, handling, and storing material
-
Manual handling
-
Lifting aids
-
Operating manufacturing equipment / machinery i.e. polisher / saw

Quality checking completed product
-
Maintenance of equipment
-
Measuring materials to size
-
Health and safety of the workspace, including safe use of PPE

Communicating with other departments and team members
-
Preparing products for dispatch
-
Stock checking/control
Skills and Requirements

Working Hours
Monday – Thursday: 7.30 am – 4.45 pm
Friday: 7.30 am – 1.45 pm
Total hours paid: 40
Hourly Rate: £4.81 ph
