AGL Training Ltd are looking to recruit a Lean Manufacturing Operative Apprentice on behalf of our well-established client based in Newcastle-under-Lyme, ST5 6.

The successful applicant will be confident, positive and have excellent communication skills, they will provide full training to develop the skills and knowledge you will need to succeed.

The position is for an Apprenticeship, the position is initially 12-15 months with the possibility of a full-time role at the end of the programme.

During this time, you will work towards the following qualifications:

·       Lean Manufacturing Operative Level 2 Apprenticeship Standards

·       EAL L2 Diploma in Manufacturing (knowledge and skills)

·       English and Maths Functional Skills Level 1/ 2

 

General Duties

You will receive training to enable you to carry out the following duties:

  • Product packing and despatch

  • Product inspection and quality checking

  • Cutting and trimming

  • Product printing and marking

  • Laminating carbon or glass fibre components

  • Interpretation of customer drawings

  • Preparation for production

  • Guillotining

  • Table saw

  • Hydraulic press

  • CNC milling machine

  • Health and safety

  • General housekeeping

 

Skills and Requirements

The ideal candidate will be:

  • GCSE Grade 4 or above in English and Maths (Grade C)

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Hands-on and a can-do attitude

  • Confident and able to adapt to tasks required

  • Punctual and committed

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced working environment

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Good knowledge of ICT / Microsoft Office Package

Working Hours

Monday – Friday: 7:00 am- 15:00 pm- x2 paid 30-minute breaks daily

Total hours paid: 40

Hourly Rate: £5.50 to £8.00 ph. depending on experience.
