AGL Training Ltd are looking to recruit an Apparel Manufacturing Apprentice on behalf of our well-established client based in Stourbridge.

Our clients have been producing quality products with customer satisfaction at the forefront of their family-run business since the mid-1980s. They are a West Midlands-based supplier of all leisure and sportswear as well as uniforms for schools, clubs and local businesses.

You will be a key part of the team responsible for the creation of bespoke workwear, sportswear, and uniform apparel. They provide a wide range of products through manufacturing garments, sewing & embroidery, printing and sublimation. As the apparel manufacturing apprentice, you will have the opportunity to learn a wide range of skills whilst working amongst a vastly experienced team.

The position is for an Apprenticeship, the position is initially 12-15 months with the possibility of a full-time role at the end of the programme.

During this time, you will work towards the following qualifications:

  • Level 2 Lean Manufacturing Apprenticeship Standards

  • Level 2 Manufacturing (knowledge and skills)

  • English and Maths Functional Skills Level 1/ Level 2



General Duties

You will receive training to enable you to carry out the following duties:

  • Assisting in all aspects of product creation – sewing, embroidery, printing, heat pressing and sublimation.

  • Support with quality assessment, finishing and packing of completed orders.

  • Responsible for the general tidiness of the unit.

  • Ensure all materials and products are stored correctly.

  • Updating website where applicable

  • General housekeeping

  • Health and safety


Skills and Requirements

The ideal candidate will be:

  • GCSE Grade 4 or above in English and Maths (Grade C)

  • Good knowledge of ICT / Microsoft Office Package

  • Ambitious and willing to learn

  • Capable of using own initiative and working independently

  • Solution-orientated approach to work

  • Confident

  • Polite and friendly


Working Hours

Monday – Friday: 9:00 am- 3:00 pm

Total hours paid: 30

Hourly Rate: £4.81 per hour
