AGL Training Ltd are looking to recruit a Level 3 Business Administration Apprentice on behalf of our well-established client based in Halesfield, Telford.

Independently owned, they have established a reputation for actively opening the doors for companies launching international trade programmes, across Europe and the rest of the world.

They have built up an extensive network of overseas agents in more than 160 countries. This, combined with the latest technology and up to date transport methods, allows them to offer their customers a comprehensive personal service, that is seamless and more importantly, cost-effective.

They are looking for a confident, versatile and articulate individual to join their team. There is an opportunity for the successful candidate to progress into a long-term role as a junior freight forwarder.


The position is for an Apprenticeship, the position is initially 12-18 months with the possibility of a full-time role at the end of the programme.

During this time, you will work towards the following qualifications:

  • Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship Standards

  • Highfield Level 3 Diploma in Business Administration Skills (RQF)

  • Highfield Level 2 Functional Skills in English and Maths



General Duties

You will receive training to enable you to carry out the following duties:

  • General administration:

    • Making and receiving telephone calls

    • Liaising with other departments

    • Filling

    • Scanning

    • Inputting and collecting data/ processing codes

    • Any other office-based duties as required

  • Follow and complete step-by-step processes


  • Moving on to Junior Freight Forwarder:

    • Liaise with transport department for arranging the collection of goods from across the country.

    • Have daily contact with international partners to ensure goods are delivered in a timely manner.

    • Upload data into systems accurately and up to date, with special care and attention to job-costing estimates.

    •   Handle the day-to-day operational issues and maintain a smooth flow of information amongst other team members and the customer.



Skills and Requirements

The ideal candidate will be:

  • GCSE Grade 4 or above in English and Maths (Grade C)

  • Ambitious and willing to learn

  • Confident

  • Polite and friendly

  • High attention to detail

  • Computer literate

  • Good knowledge of ICT / Microsoft Office Package

  • Able to work off own initiative

  • Strong communication skills



Working Hours

Monday – Friday: 8:30am- 5pm

Total hours paid: 40

Hourly Rate: £5ph.
