AGL Training Ltd are looking to recruit a Manufacturing Apprentice on behalf of our well-established client based in Hortonwood, Telford.
Our client is an engineering company with 40 years of experience in the field of Precision and Production Engineering, supplying a wide range of industries including garden and agricultural products, commercial street furniture, industrial racking and the commercial automotive vehicle industry.
This is a fantastic opportunity, to build a career within manufacturing, you will receive training in many different areas of this business.
The position is for an Apprenticeship, the position is initially 12-15 months with the possibility of a full-time role at the end of the programme.
During this time, you will work towards the following qualifications:

Lean Manufacturing Operative Level 2 Apprenticeship Standards

EAL L2 Diploma in Manufacturing (knowledge and skills)

English and Maths Functional Skills Level 1/ 2
General Duties
You will receive training to enable you to carry out the following duties:
-
Drilling
-
Sawing
-
Assembling
-
Packing and labelling
-
Quality checks
-
Producing components
-
Production and fabrication welding
-
Sheet metal work
-
Working from technical drawings and documentation
-
Assist in other areas of the shop floor as required

MIG and TIG welding
You will receive training in many different areas of the business.
Skills and Requirements
The ideal candidate will be:

GCSE Grade 4 or above in English and Maths (Grade C)

Good knowledge of ICT / Microsoft Office Package

Working Hours
Monday – Thursday: 7:30 am- 4:30 pm
Friday: 7:30 am- 1:30 pm
Total hours paid: 37.25
Hourly Rate: £4.81ph starting, will be reviewed after the successful completion of the first 3 months.
