AGL Training Ltd are looking to recruit a Chocolate Production Apprentice on behalf of our well-established client based in Stoke-on-Trent.

Our client is a family-owned Chocolatier launched in 2007, founded by their CEO at their kitchen table, since those humble beginnings and lots of hard work, the business has grown organically.

They are able to produce in excess of 20,000 bars per day as well as small volume batches of hand-finished chocolate, which makes them quite unique within the UK.

The successful applicant would be joining their Production and Packaging team.

The position is for an Apprenticeship, the position is initially 12-15 months with the possibility of a full-time role at the end of the programme.

During this time, you will work towards the following qualifications:

  • Lean Manufacturing Operative Apprenticeship Standards L2

  • EAL Diploma in Manufacturing (knowledge and skills) L2

  • English and Maths Functional Skills Level 1/ Level 2

 

General Duties

You will receive training to enable you to understand and carry out the below:

  • Grinding down the chocolate nibs, adding sugars and fats.

  • Massage and aerate the chocolate liquid.

  • Temper chocolate so all ingredients harden at the same temperature.

  • Add chocolate to a holding tank, add in additional flavours and ingredients.

  • Decant into moulds.

  • Cool chocolate.

  • Remove from moulds.

  • Wrap / package chocolate.

  • Wash moulds ready for reuse.

  • Inspecting and confirming the quality of goods.

  • Food safety.

  • Health and safety.

Through your apprenticeship, you will also learn the importance of sustainable and ethically sourced products within the sector.

  • Reliable and willing to learn

  • Interested in a food manufacturing environment

  • Find enjoyment in being precise and meticulous when carrying out repetitive tasks

Working Hours

Monday – Friday: 9 am- 5 pm, 30-minute unpaid lunch break

Total hours paid: 37.5

Hourly Rate: £4.81ph
