Hourly Rate: £4.81ph 

AGL Training Ltd are looking to recruit a Warehouse Operative Apprentice on behalf of our well-established client based in Hortonwood.

Our client is a sub-contract sheet metal manufacturing and assembly business. They offer a variety of services that can effectively replace your existing sub-contract manufacturing requirements.

The Warehouse Operative plays a key role in receiving deliveries and picking and shipping of stock in a timely and professional manner. Within the business, they are responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction through on time and in full deliveries.

To be successful you will continuously work to a high quality and assist with general warehouse duties and complete them to a high standard. The Warehouse Operative will always represent the business in a professional and positive manner.

The position is for an Apprenticeship, the position is initially 12-15 months with the possibility of a full-time role at the end of the programme.

During this time, you will work towards the following qualifications:

·       Level 2 Supply Chain Warehouse Operative Apprenticeship Standards

·       Highfield Level 2 Certificate for Supply Chain Warehouse Operative (RQF)

·       English and Maths Functional Skills Level 1 / Level 2

General Duties

You will receive training to enable you to carry out the following duties:

·         Picks orders from designated areas within the warehouse using the picking sheet generated by the Operations Team.

·         Assists in regular stock-taking.

·         Maintains quality service by following organisation and quality standards.

·         Maintains Health and Safety Standards at all times.

·         Check deliveries received to delivery notes and report any discrepancies.

·         Report any areas of concern to the Warehouse Manager immediately.

·         Assists with general warehouse duties and completes them to the highest standards.

·         Works to standard operating procedures in line with the company policies.

·         Assist in the unloading of containers and ensure all pallets and stock are sufficiently wrapped and put away accordingly.

·         Load distribution vehicles in a safe, presentable manner and highlight all errors and damages prior to completion (subject to holding a relevant fork-lift driving licence)

·         Maintains Health and Safety Standards at all times.

·         General housekeeping

 

Skills and Requirements

The ideal candidate will be:

·         GCSE Grade 4 or above in English and Maths (Grade C)

·         Able to meet deadlines,

·         Good attention to detail,

·         Able to work as part of a team and individually,

·         Able to show initiative,

·         Able to work on a wide range of tasks,

·         Having warehouse and order picking experience would be advantageous

·         Having a forklift licence would be advantageous

 

Working Hours

Monday to Thursday: 8 am – 5 pm, 30-minute lunch break and a further two breaks

Friday: 8 am – 1 pm, one morning break

Total hours paid: 39

Hourly Rate: £4.81ph
