AGL Training Ltd are looking to recruit a Manufacturing Operative Apprentice on behalf of our well-established client based in Kidderminster, DY10.

Our client was first formed in 1982, and it has since grown to be a leader in the research and development, manufacture, and installation of pneumatic conveying systems, specialist cash management solutions, rising security screens and asset protection.

The position is for an Apprenticeship, the position is initially 12-15 months with the possibility of a full-time role at the end of the programme.

During this time, you will work towards the following qualifications:

  • Lean Manufacturing Operative Level 2 Apprenticeship Standards

  • EAL L2 Diploma in Manufacturing (knowledge and skills)

  • English and Maths Functional Skills Level 1/ 2

 

General Duties

You will receive training to enable you to carry out the following duties:

  • Material preparation

  • Assembly of products

  • PVC Welding

  • Cutting of materials/ measuring

  • Basic fabrication

  • Converting drawings into fabricated items

  • Preparing cutting lists

  • Material selection

  • Fabrication for development work

  • Training on fabrication tools

  • Using saws and drills

  • Line bender work

  • Moulding

  • Health and Safety

  • General Housekeeping

Opportunity upon successful completion of the apprenticeship to progress into an Installations Engineering role.

 

Skills and Requirements

The ideal candidate will be:

  • GCSE Grade 4 or above in English and Maths (Grade C)

  • Ambitious and willing to learn

  • Basic Health and Safety knowledge

  • Able to work as part of a team and follow instruction

  • Able to use own initiative

  • Confident

  • Polite and friendly

  • Good knowledge of ICT / Microsoft Office Package

 

 

Working Hours

Monday – Friday: 7:00 am- 18:00 pm

Total hours paid: 37

Hourly Rate: £5.50- £6.00 per hour
